Sports

Physical Education is an integral part of school life at KC Dubai. Just view, or even better visit, our school and you will immediately see the important role that physical activity and sport plays in the development of our pupils.

The Physical Education Department provides a vast array of sports and activities for pupils to experience. We aim to provide support for all of our pupils – from those seeking enjoyment by living a healthy and active lifestyle to those pursuing personal ambitions to become elite athletes. Physical Education and sport has always played a pivotal role in the development of a young person. Without it, pupils do not have the opportunity to gain an active, balanced lifestyle.

Each year group up to Year 11 has a double period of PE every week, as well as a chance to participate in an extensive range of competitive and non-competitive extracurricular activities after school.

The major sporting teams at Kent College Dubai are: for boys – Rugby, Football, Basketball, Swimming, Athletics, Hockey and Cricket, for girls – Netball, Football, Basketball, Swimming, Athletics, Rounders and Hockey. In addition, many other sports are offered such as Badminton, Dance, Gymnastics, Trampolining, Fitness, to name but a few. Kent College Dubai does not specialise in one particular sport but focuses on developing pupils skills and abilities to transfer across all sports.

We are an affiliated member of the Dubai Athletics Schools Sports Association, DASSA. This gives our pupils the chance to compete in ability and performance related leagues in all available sports – and in our first year our pupils have already excelled in many areas including swimming, football and netball.

Our fixture list is available for viewing on our Sports Website www.kcdsports.com.

Trips

Taking pupils on residential tours and regular trips is vital to our continued and growing success. We intend to run annual ski trips to Europe as well as biannual Sports Tours. Our link with our sister school in the UK will provide plenty of friendly opposition for sports exchanges.
