Leaders of the future
Student Heads of School
Our Heads of School are the figure heads of the student body and are responsible for communication between our students and other stakeholders. They also take on one of the responsibilities assigned to the Student Leadership Team. Both Heads of School will oversee the Student Council in order to develop lines of communication and implement students’ ideas. The Deputy Heads of school support the Heads of School.
School Prefects
Each year, Year 12 pupils apply for one of the school’s Prefect roles. Successful applicants become school ambassadors, and as such take responsibility for the following roles: Eco Ambassador, Community Liaison, Sports Ambassador, Arts Ambassador, Junior School Liaison, and Wellbeing Ambassador. Prefects work with members of staff linked to each role in order to promote an develop key areas of our community. In addition to their individual roles, prefects form part of our Student Leadership Team in which they support the Student Heads of School.
School Student Council
The student council operates from Year 3 upwards. Members from each year group are elected by peers and are responsible for listening to the ideas and concerns of their year group. Members meet regularly to represent their peers and work towards further developing our school community.
Class Ambassadors
In order to develop and support pupils’ confidence and public speaking skills, we allocate class ambassadors who will take on the role of speaker to any visitors to the classroom. This is a role that all children will have the opportunity to have during the year.
KCD Play Ambassadors: Developing Leadership and Play in Junior School
At Kent College Dubai, we believe in fostering leadership and collaboration from an early age. Our Play Ambassadors programme offers Year 1 and Year 2 pupils the opportunity to take on a leadership role during break times, ensuring a safe, fun, and inclusive environment for their peers. Play Ambassadors are selected for their kindness, enthusiasm, and commitment to promoting positive play experiences.
Wearing their distinguished KCD Play Ambassador badges, these young leaders are instrumental in guiding their classmates through new games and activities, encouraging teamwork and ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to participate. The initiative not only supports the development of social and physical skills but also nurtures empathy, cooperation, and a sense of responsibility among our youngest students.
