- Moral Education
Homeroom teachers teach all subjects with specialist teachers being responsible for the delivery of PE, Arabic, Islamic and Performing Arts.
Junior School incorporates two sections: Key Stage One for 5-7 year olds in Year 1 and Year 2, and Key Stage Two for 8-11 year olds in Years 3 to Year 6.
Moral Education (MEC)
Moral Education is an innovative, engaging curriculum designed to develop young people in the UAE, of all nationalities and ages, to understand universal principles and values. Our lessons are based around four main pillars:
- Character and Morality
- The Individual and The Community
- Cultural Studies
- Civic Studies
At Kent College Dubai, we aim to teach MEC using a cross-curricular approach, providing engaging and meaningful lessons for children in Year 2-6 that expand on our Learner Profile attributes.
This helps children to develop lifelong skills and qualities that allow them to live in a multi-cultural environment and become responsible members of our international community.
Moral Education also aims to provide children with an understanding of the UAE, how it was formed and how it is governed today.
UAE Social Studies
Social Studies helps explain the world we live in. Pupils learn about the past and present, become aware of what it means to be a global citizen, discover new places around the world, and find out about economic choices, trends and more. At Kent College Dubai we believe it is important for young people to fully understand the environment that they are growing up in. The Social Studies curriculum explores the people, society and community of Dubai and the UAE.
A British Curriculum School in Dubai with various Graduation Pathways
Dubai offers a plethora of educational curriculums, the choice of which is a deeply personal one which depends very much on each individual pupil, and what they hope to achieve in their lives once they finish Senior School. It’s a tough choice, and we are often asked by Junior School Parents: “How do I know now, while my child is in Junior school, what graduation pathway will be suitable for them when they are in Senior School?” It’s a difficult call to make so early on in your child’s educational journey, and that is why at Kent College Dubai, we offer various graduation options for your child to choose from once they reach Senior School. We are a top international British Curriculum School (GCSE and A Levels), we offer BTEC in Performing Arts, Sports or Business, and we are an IB Candidate School.
